Challenge Areas

We invite students to submit ideas that will transform the future of aviation in the following areas:

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is reshaping how we search, analyze, and create across industries. From photography and data science to medicine and beyond. Aviation and aerospace are no exception. Your challenge: propose a creative and practical application of AI within the aviation or aerospace industry. How might AI improve safety, reduce pilot workload, enhance situational awareness, optimize maintenance or accelerate the development of commercial space travel? The possibilities are vast, and your task is to identify a compelling opportunity for AI to make a meaningful impact.

Aviation Safety

Safety is the cornerstone of the aviation and aerospace industry. More than a principal, it’s a continuous, evolving practice, upheld by rigorous training, proactive culture, and global standards. While the industry remains one of the safest forms of transportation, recent events in 2025 have tested its resilience and reinforced the need for constant improvement. Your challenge: Investigate a current issue or trend in aviation safety and propose a solution to reduce risk and/or strengthen safety culture. Consider how advancement and technology, human factors, regulation or training could enhance the industry's already strong safety foundation.

Prizes

In addition to the all the knowledge, expertise and skill sets that students will get to develop, the winners also stand to walk away with attractive prizes and scholarships worth over SGD 35,000! Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams, as well as teams who excel in various categories. Winners stand to receive scholarships to study at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - Asia.
